2024 Community Pride Nomination Application

Submit the completed application form by September 6th, 2024.

The Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce has been honoring businesses and individuals for 50 Years with our Pride of Community Awards Gala and Annual Meeting. The Pride of Community Awards honors 6 individuals/organizations from throughout Sullivan County for their community involvement and their contributions to the economic development in the county.

The Six winners selected are Business or Businessperson of the Year, Distinguished Service to the County, Distinguished Achievement in the County, Emerging Leader, DEI Workplace Excellence Award, and one Township Award; all to be honored at this prestigious ceremony that will take place on November 14th of this year at the Villa Roma.

 

So, what makes someone eligible?  Or what criteria should be considered?

• Business Person of the Year is recognized for their dedication to the residents and businesses of our County and community.  They continuously go above beyond to impact the entire County in many aspects.  They show true business influence, leadership style, and strategic initiatives that they share throughout their community.  These are true efforts toward the betterment & improvement of Sullivan County.
• Distinguished Achievement Award is recognized for their tireless effort and dedication to the betterment of Sullivan County.  They show leadership and extensive contributions to our community.  They have accomplished significant impact on their surroundings and the people of Sullivan County.
• Distinguished Service Award is to recognize an individual’s act of helpful activity, help or extraordinary service and dedication to their community. Their leadership and tireless efforts are an example for others to follow.  They have made outstanding service contributions to the community.
• Emerging Leader recognizes an individual for their outstanding dedication in the Sullivan County Community.  They clearly serve as a role model for new and seasoned professionals.  They tirelessly work as examples of leadership, integrity, professionalism and creativity.
• DEI Workplace Excellence Award goes to the individual or organization in the County that have created inclusive work environments through their workforce, supplier diversity programs, employee development initiatives, and more.
• Township Award is an award to recognize a business or an individual for dedication, commitment and effort in promoting and contributing to their community.  It is designed to recognize and reward entrepreneurial engagement in townships while building confidence in township-based businesses.

 

Cast Your Nomination Below!

1. For the Business Person of the Year:
Describe how the nominee has demonstrated business influence, leadership style, and strategic initiatives
benefiting Sullivan County.

2. For the Distinguished Achievement Award:
Outline the nominee’s significant accomplishments and their impact on the community and its people.

3. For the Distinguished Service Award:
Provide details on the nominee’s acts of extraordinary service, leadership, and contributions to the
community.

4. For the Emerging Leader:
Explain how the nominee exemplifies leadership, integrity, professionalism, and creativity, and how they
serve as a role model.

5. For the DEI Workplace Excellence Award:
Describe how the nominee or organization has created an inclusive work environment and contributed to
workforce diversity and employee development.

6. For the Township Award:
Detail how the nominee has contributed to their township through dedication, commitment, and
entrepreneurial engagement.

7. For Junior Emerging Leader:
Describe how the high school student has demonstrated exceptional commitment to community service,
leadership, and positive impact on their peers and the community. Provide specific examples of their
involvement and achievements.

 

Who chooses these winners?  A committee of past businesspersons of the year and Chamber Board Members carefully review all nominations.  This is a distinguished group of individuals from across Sullivan County and a diverse range of businesses and backgrounds.
